The Joy of Hosting Harry Potter Tea

There's something about finding a topic that people are so passionate about and bring them all together that I just love. It's one of my favorite parts of doing Daydreams. I can admit that my heart isn't as much for Harry Potter as it is for Outlander or Jane Austen, but witnessing the excitement of everyone who came to tea last Saturday has definitely change my perspective on Harry and crew.

Sara has a great love of the source material, and played a big part in making the design come to life. The design creation process is the perfect example of why we work so well together. She came up with the overall look that we were going for, and then I was able to expand on that and help it come to life. When we arrived at the Henley Park on Saturday, we worked seamlessly together to bring together the space and welcome our guests into an environment that was deserving of their time and affection for Harry Potter.

The Front Parlor was the perfect spot for our Potter world, and we brought in our own elements with our House banners, golden snitches, and the wanted poster that we created from scratch (which was a fun mini-crafternoon in itself). I loved sitting in the middle of my table and hearing the conversation flow around me. Listening to those who were with family and friends, those who were meeting making new connections over their love of the Potterverse, and sharing book recommendations. I loved it. So much time and work went into making this tea what I wanted it to be, and I was completely exhausted and useless the following day but it was worth it, and if that's the cost of doing what I love, I will pay it every single time.
